Learning Outcomes
  • Upon completion of this course this course will be able to:
    • identify common biomechanical errors and assess the basic related clinical anatomy
    • improve joint and soft tissue treatments for the region
    • identify common biomechanical errors and modify their own treatment approaches
  • Assessment tools: observed student demonstration of skill, post seminar survey, web-based and in-person testing
Class Layout

General class layout

  • ~0.5 hr introduction to the course and assess common biomechanical issues for clinicians with hands on basic palpation, muscle testing, and orthopedic testing associated anatomy, basic screening tests
  • ~1 hr discussion/demo of lumbar and SI joint set-ups and optimized mechanics with hands on palpation, muscle testing and mobilization of tissue
  • ~1 hr discussion / demo of thoracic, ribs, and CT set-ups and optimized mechanics, with hands on palpation, muscle testing, orthoneuro testing and mobilization of tissue
  • ~0.5 hr discussion/demo of cervical set-ups and optimized mechanics, with hands on palpation, muscle testing, and orthoneuro testing, and treatment of associated pathoanatomy
  • Class review, questions, and closing remarks
